An Easy Way to Avoid Fraud

An Easy Way to Avoid Fraud

I publish a web site on the subject of fraud.
I personally have been scammed on eBay, have been a victim
Of Identity Theft, commonly known ” Phishing “and a Telemarketing scam.

Fraud is on the increase particularly on the Internet and most especially on online auction sites. It’s reported that 65% of fraud cases are related to eBay and it’s sister organization Paypal.

They are both reputable but furnish a tremendous opportunity for fraud.
Tracking down and prosecuting these criminals is virtually impossible as they generally operate from overseas. They defy any and all laws s o the only way to defeat them is through education and vigilance on our part.

I’ve learned the hard way and I constantly research the subject for my web site.
I and others like me have come up with all kinds of sophisticated ways to Identify and avoid fraudulent schemes and the perpetrators.

I’m not sure that’s the best or easiest approach.

I’ll lay it out for you very simply in two simple easy to follow rules.

Dealing on eBay all I can say is “Let the Buyer Beware.” Visit www.caveatemptorus.com for numerous articles about eBay.

For all other situations follow these two simple rules:

1. Be suspicious of all e-mail and unsolicited phone calls.

2. Never answer either directly.

If it’s something you are interested in
Go directly to the source. Do not use links or phone numbers that you are given.Know whom you’re dealing with.

Buy Cricket Equipment Online Today

Posted in Recreation Center, Shopping Stuff, University of Sports on December 26th, 2008

When you are just about to begin to play cricket it is not always straightforward to tell what you must purchase. If you go into a sports high street store & ask them what you need, you will in all probability end up getting a significant amount of equipment that you don’t need. Therefore, it is reasonable to work out what you will need ahead of you going shopping. That way you are more likely to obtain what you require, rather than what the shop owner believes you need.

Below, is essentially a comprehensive cricket equipment inventory, you do not require to get all the items on this list, as lots of organisations will loan you kit particularly at youth level:

Cricket whites, cricket bats, balls, helmets, gloves, batting (wicket keeping) inner gloves, wicket keeping gloves, batting pads, wicket keeping pads, box, chest pad, arm guard, inner thigh pad, cricket boots (bowling boots; batting boots), box (groin guard), stumps and bails.

For most cricket games you will ever play a part in you will need to have your own set of whites. Cricket whites consist of white cricket trousers & cricket shirt. It is very important that you buy a good set of cricket trousers as well as a nice white cricket shirt & jumper as it can easily get pretty cold if you are standing out on the pitch for a substantial long time particularly if plan to play in England (the start and end of the cricket season are the coldest). Check out the latest cricket equipment sales online at Sportswear-Equipment.com.

If you can not borrow equipment from your club the other most important items of equipment are a cricket bat & box. A good quality cricket bat is critical if you wish to score lots of runs & is a very special piece of cricket equipment, spend some time choosing your bat, in an ideal world you ought to go to a sports shop and test drive one before you buy in order for you to know how it feels to play with. When you know what you want you can often purchase bats on the Web noticeably cheaper). You need a good box to shield your groin from the ball, as getting hit down below’ is tremendously painful, so investing in a good box before you start is a defiant must - you can not bat without one.

Ethnic Weddings

Posted in Uncategorized on December 25th, 2008

Members of the Navajo nation have used corn throughout history to symbolize the marriage union. According to Navajo tradition, a pudding of white and yellow corn is offered at the wedding reception. The bride enters the reception with the basket of corn pudding and sits next to the groom. The corn ceremony comprises the cleansing of the bride and groom’s hands by each other, and the sharing of the corn pudding. Then the bride and groom feeds the corn pudding to each other.

Because Mexico is a Roman Catholic country, weddings usually occur within a nuptial Mass. Godparents play an important role in the wedding ceremony. The madrina de lazo carries a rope or a rosary symbolizing fertility. The rope is positioned on the bride and groom’s head in a figure eight as they take their vows. The madrina de arras holds 13 coins (for Jesus and his 12 apostles) that are blessed by the priest and represent the sharing of finances between the couple. Often, godparents hold wine glasses for the wedding toast. During the nuptial Mass, the couple may kiss a cross to show faithfulness to each other and the Lord.

Mariachi music is a vital part of Mexican wedding celebrations. Prior to the first dance, the reception guests enclose the couple in a heart-shaped ring. The Mexican wedding tradition that should excite any kid attending is the ceremony piata. Piatas are a focal point of Mexican wedding celebrations.

Broom Jumping is one of the most common African American traditions at wedding. According to Harriette Cole in her book, “Jumping the Broom.” Our ancestors created the ritual itself during slavery. Because slaves were unable to perform legal marriages, they created their own wedding rituals to honor their unions. The jumping of the broom symbolizes the sweeping away of the old and welcoming the new. Clearly, “Jumping the Broom” is a symbol of a new beginning.

Nowadays, the ceremony is usually performed at the wedding after the minister pronounces the couple husband and wife or at the reception just after the bridal party enters the reception area. It is important to explain your wedding tradition in your wedding program. Your ethnic traditions are better understood and enjoyed with appropriate explanation.

Writing basics for local campaign websites

Posted in Political Activism on December 24th, 2008

As the fastest-growing resource in politics, the Internet provides a cost-effective method to reach supporters and potential supporters. However, writing for your local campaign website is different than writing for print. Simply copying your local campaign print material onto your website limits the potential of online campaigning.

Online campaign writing tips

Nobody likes scrolling through pages and pages of poorly written, overblown website content. Studies show that people read from computer screens is about 25% slower than reading from paper. Give your visitors the information they want, and then some. Include information about your campaign and your local political scene. Post all your campaign releases, including press announcements, speeches, advertisements, and policy papers. Also, create content that is exclusive to the website, and remind visitors return to your website frequently.

Use these tips to make your campaign website content more readable:

* Include your most important keyword phrase as close to the beginning of the description as possible. For example: John Jones for Anytown, NY Town Council.

* Start each written section with the conclusion. Put the main points of your document in the first paragraph, so that readers scanning your pages will not miss your point.

* Write concisely and stick to one idea per paragraph.

* Keep in mind that many web readers still use dial-up access. Don’t bog your site down with too many large images or extra-long pages.

* Bullet lists rather than use wordy sentences or paragraphs. Readers can pick out information more easily from a list than from paragraphs.

* Use meaningful sub-headings. Guide the reader by highlighting the main points of your information.

* Bold your keywords.

* Remember that readers do not read web pages in sequence. Providing information in precise segments allows readers to quickly locate the material they seek.

* Separate your ‘white paper’ information and link out to it for readers who want to know more detail about a particular subject. PDF files work well, because they can be easily printed out for offline reading.

Online content layout tips

* Don’t set your text size too large or too small.

* Capitalizing all letters give the appearance of shouting at your visitors. Shouting is rude!

* Keep your main text left-aligned on the page. Center-aligned text is best used in headlines.

* Use spaces between blocks of information. Large blocks of text are intimidating to a reader, and probably won’t get read.

* Left and/or right-align images to your paragraphs. This will break up your text a bit and allow your text to flow down the pages and around your images.

Remember — anything you put on your campaign website becomes part of ‘the record’ and will not only be read by your supporters, it will be read by your opponents! Once the opposition finds out that you have a website, you can be sure that they will keep an eye on it.

So How Far Have We Come? Here are some of the 2001 Anti Terrorist Projects

Posted in Political Activism on December 24th, 2008

An article in Information Week in January 14, 2002 discussed an interesting subject of tracking terrorists. It talked about tracing of spending by Terrorists. Things like airlines, car rentals, hotels, credit cards, telephones, banks, etc. and the vast software available. It talked in detail, I mean real detail about the ACL Services LTD. Software consultants and forensic accountants. I thought to my self after reviewing all the data and information on the Internet about NetMap, which also runs SQL and the i2 INC. software.

Analyst’s Notebook has many customers including FBI, Treasury Department’s Financial Crime Enforcement Network called FinCen. The system and all components are totally flawed, due to the possible links that may be totally invalid and waste a lot of time. The idea is good, but the problem is that these agencies don’t get it and certainly neither do the program writers. And algorithms only pick up pieces of BS. Look at the intense money spent on search engines and they still bring back tons of garbage. The only way experts can do this is to think like terrorists. To hunt any animal you have to think like that animal.

I cannot tell you how friggin easy it would be knowing this data published in a magazine to easily beat the system, now that it has been all laid out. Here is how they would do it. Go into cash, use a cellular phone and then give it to someone on the street or leave it on and mail it somewhere or better yet charge the battery full and duct tape it under a truck or train traveling across the country. Leave a credit card at a hotel or at a retail store where shady people hang out. The damn thing will be used for days in one city until it is over and spent, it could even travel states. You can buy a recharging telephone that you use for five days and throw away. And just think what on Earth does a terrorist need with a telephone anyway. You can use a CB, walkie talky, handy talkie or any other communication and talk in meaningless conversation containing information. Talk about the weather means to meet at location A, talk about the girl with the big breasts means meet at location B.

Talk about one light means by land, talk about the lights and the sun in the same conversation means by sea. Also if you know someone is possibly listening then what is to say they give out misdirection and watch to see what happens then they know you are listening. How can a person writing algorithms thin like that, those brains are not working the same way or wired the same. Get someone who thinks like terrorism to catch them. You know maybe we should not have killed McVay. Anyway this and many other articles I have read are definitely pieces to the puzzle, but publicizing them is bad. If you have something that is working do not go into detail about it, publish it and then expect it to keep working, once it is published it will not work. So what we need to do is publish the misinformation, we want them to think we are using so they do something else, that we want them to do. Then you can continue to catch them.

VoIP - ISP’s Need To Improve for Small Businesses To take up

Posted in Uncategorized on December 23rd, 2008

I’m a manager in a small UK company whose portfolio also includes looking after the company’s computers and telecommunications. On a daily basis I am contacted by telecom firms asking me if they can take ‘just 10 minutes of my time to save me 60% on my phone bills or similar’. Now these guys are not selling VoIP but something called carrier pre-select. That’s when you pay your line rental to one company and pay for your call charges to another, who will charge you at a lower rate than the line rental company.

I have to say these guys are seasoned telesales people. They know every trick in the book to keep you talking, a few haven’t even got the hint from my standard line of ‘I need to finish this conversation now and hang up the phone’. Anyway to get me a better line to tell these guy’s I’d love to be able to say ‘we’re on VoIP, and you can’t compete with those prices’. However, I can’t use that line yet. Why? Because my ISP connection uptime is not reliable enough to switch.

A few weeks ago after a thunderstorm we lost full ADSL connection in one of our branches for three days. Now if that weren’t bad enough to lose e-mail capability and the various web sites crucial to the running of our business, if we had lost phone capability as well then as a recruitment agency we would have lost both business and customers.

Until the ISP’s can guarantee a better continuation of service then I shan’t be recommending VoIP to our Managing Director for his business.

Never Gift Pain On Valentine’s Day

Posted in Uncategorized on December 18th, 2008

Can a day that is supposed to make world go wild with passion, pain a person? That sounds surprising, am I correct? How can Valentine’s Day give pain? Yes. It can. And the pain can be many times more than the pleasure anyone can get on this day.

For a lover, who lived for the beloved, who breathed the air thinking of the beloved, who did everything in life thinking of the beloved and who shared all with the beloved, this day is nothing but a very sharp and unbearable pain if the beloved is lost. Imagine the pain of the parents on the birthday of their lost child. The same day, that used to give them only pleasure, gives nothing but so much pain that they cannot bear that. They will cry till no tear is left. Pain is bad. Pain is very bad.

Real pain that one gets for a lifetime does not heal over a lifetime. Many people say that time is a great healer. Ask one who is dying every minute if this is true? This is not true for those who are drowned in pain forever. Valentine’s Day brings back the memories of the lost love like a flood. Call it a tsunami of pain. The waves engulf everything and take away the will of living forever. Such a lover looks not at the Rose, but surely feels the pricking of thorns. The memories of time that they shared, of the walks together, of fun, of travel, of small escapades and love, everything that made a life worth living makes the same life a hell from which there is no escape.

Life is good for the lucky ones. Those who are gifted pain find life unbearable. The feeling of emptiness of heart cannot ever be explained. One has to live this pain to know about it. The pain is a gift from the beloved who goes away, leaving a body with a beating heart, and fills every beat with a sharp pang of pain. You will find different options of buying and sending gifts to your beloved. You will never be able to buy this gift of pain. For gifting this pain, you will have to first share great time with your beloved, enslave them in your love and then throw them away from your life. After that they will live with this gift of pain forever and much more so on the Valentine’s Day.

I write for eCards on valentine, eCards for various Expressions, and screensavers.

Diaper Bags

Posted in Parents + Kids, Tips + Tricks on December 15th, 2008

If there is one thing that you will really need when you venture out of the house, it is the diaper bag. Most of you will have one or two by now. They are the giant purse looking things that are in your babies closet, will all the pockets. Do you really want to be seen around town, carrying a giant purse around. No. The thing is that if you try to put the baby stuff in any thing other than the diaper bag, your partner will most likely freak out, and demand that you carry around the degrading purse. Make her carry it when you are together with the baby. When you are alone with the kid you can, and will, use something else. A back pack, or gym bag will work just fine. I have even talked to dads that will actually use a briefcase. The best bag that I have see are the GI field bags. These are made of tough canvas, have tons of pockets, look cool, and most importantly, been tested on the battlefield. Diaper bags are theessentialitem for caring for babies. They make going to the store or actually for any outing so much easier. A well made diaper bag will make it possible to care everything you need to care for your baby.
